Using interesting points to highlight a photo subject

There are many ways to make your subject stand out in a photo, or to catch readers' attention in the first place.

(1)Use something light or bright

The higher light generally can attract more attention than the dark, in filming on the streets of the characters, for example, there is light at first glance, the reader will watch, so if you think there is one thing in the photo is outstanding, need to be noticed, you can use it to illuminate, or make other things look darker (e.g., using calender way).

(2) "People" are more noticeable in the photos

We always have an inexplicable curiosity about other people, so adding any number of characters to a photo can immediately draw the reader's attention! Even if the people in the picture are small, we will not look at them. If the character has a pair of clear eyes, the effect is stronger!

(3) The big things and the small things stand out

In a photo, big things tend to attract attention, so if you want to highlight the subject, the easiest and most direct way is to shoot as close to the subject as possible, so the reader will know what you are trying to say!

(4) The eye will stay on the clear things (under the vague comparison)

Surely you've seen the shallow depth-of-field photos with "clear subject and blurry background"? Remember, the first place you saw the picture? Most people also pay attention to the clear parts of the picture first! Therefore, it can be very effective to highlight the subject by using the shooting method of shallow depth of field. Please refer to another teaching article: 3 techniques for shooting "shallow depth of field" Even if the color is similar, your eyes will always stay in the clear position, right?

5) bright/contrasting colors

The first point, "light things stand out," works well in black and white photographs, and another element that makes a big difference in color photographs is color! If one of your photographs is brighter than the other, or has a distinct contrast to the other (red flowers in a green leaf, for example), the reader's gaze will naturally be drawn to it. So if you find a scene with a bright/contrasting color, take a shot, but be careful not to over color the main character or the picture will become muddled and not stand out! Even without the shallow depth of field effect, readers are easily attracted by the bright colors!

The composition method of "interesting points" can make the photos more durable. If you choose the right one, you can increase the depth of the photos. It is one of the skills worth learning.
