Six waterfall shooting techniques
Six waterfall shooting techniques
Waterfall is always taken by one of my favorite landscape, water atomization and stone hard contrast often can form a beautiful composition and actually falls not difficult, try the following 6 cookies to photograph.
(1) Seize the right time to shoot
Good time to take pictures of the waterfall. After the rain falls the best time is in after the rain, the water flow is enough, not only can appear more green moss, also can make water mixed soil, for the waterfalls add a layer of golden color.
(2) Arrive at the spot early
Appropriate composition can avoid crowds unless waterfall is very difficult to reach your goals, or crowded crowd, often try to arrive a little earlier, attractions, let you can be alone in the waterfall. If there is a real crowd, try to find an empty space to zoom in on the waterfall.
(3) Don’t forget the tripod
If you want to make the water like fog with a dreamlike feel, you need a tripod to capture the flow of water while keeping it clear. Adjust your shutter speed at the speed of the current, and the slower the shutter speed will allow the water to slide. Using the first photo, the second picture took a second of a second. Remember that if you have enough light, you can make sure that you use the ND Filter to ensure proper exposure under the slow shutter.
(4) Using characters to increase interest
Adding characters to photos can make them more attractive and rich. I had taken a lot of pictures of a waterfall when I took this picture, but then decided to wait for someone to stand on a bridge and shoot. For me, a picture with characters than only attractive scenery, so don't be afraid of pictures with the presence of others, but to pay more attention to the shutter speed is too slow, otherwise people will paste off!
(5) Add a foreground to the photo
Another photo and more able to bear or endure look skills for waterfall with a prospect, take a look at the following pictures - if not the stone, the photos will become ordinary tasteless! Add this stone because the flow of water can create beautiful dynamic effects. So next time, doesn’t be in a hurry, and look around for the right prospects.
(6) Be careful of camera and personal safety
Usually a waterfall is also slippery and must be more careful when walking on a rock. It is also suggested that you cover your camera with a plastic bag to avoid getting wet, or you can prepare a cloth to remove water droplets from the lens. A solid tripod and a cloud platform will ensure that your camera doesn't fall into the water while shooting.
