Make your landscape photos more beautiful
Many students also like to take landscape photos, and there is a great opportunity to include the sky in the photos, canvas prints so how can make landscape photos more beautiful? One of the most important techniques is to properly add the cloud to the photo! This time, let's learn how to make a good cloud photo.
1. Different clouds have different ways of shooting
Clouds have many forms and can change at any time, canvas online we must know how to compose according to the shape of clouds and determine the elements to be included. We can also decide whether to shoot large scenes with (super) wide Angle or close-up photos with a telephoto lens according to the distribution of clouds.
2. Correct exposure is important
To take pictures of the clouds in the sky, we must pay attention to whether the clouds are overexposed, if overexposed, the clouds will become a "dead white", there are no details between the clouds, panoramic canvas prints can be considered a failure of the work. So how do you get the right exposure?
Using Spot Metering (Spot Metering)
We can set the camera's metering mode to "point metering" and then use the cloud to measure the light. If necessary, we can also use "ae-lock" to help with the composition after metering.
Use +/- EV to match the "highlight anti-white" display mode
If you don't want to turn on the spot metering, you can use the +/ -ev button to properly reduce the exposure, re-look at the photo after taking the photo, and use the "highlight white" display mode to check whether there is a large amount of dead white in the cloud (flashing places indicate overexposure), and further reduce the exposure if there is.
Use GND gradient grey filter
If you only rely on to reduce exposure to the cloud detail reproduce, the ground is likely to become underexposure, unless you are want to silhouette photos, otherwise the result is not ideal, then we can use the "GND gray gradient filter" to balance the light is poor, so that your photos will be the clouds have details, and the ground will have normal exposure, appear more professional! See this article for information on how to use GND.
(3) Plus a good outlook
A good foreground can make a photo richer and better looking, just like a photo of a landscape that contains clouds. We can choose some interesting foreground to shoot with the scenery. If the foreground is something with obvious outline, such as dead wood or buildings, we can shoot it in silhouette. If you want to keep the foreground details, use the GND gradient grey filter mentioned above or posts it on RAW.
(4) Pay attention to shutter speed
When shooting an image that contains clouds, our shutter speed can affect the shape of the clouds, especially in windy conditions:
Slow shutter: can take a picture of the cloud flow, suitable for a large number of clouds, and wind conditions, usually use a tripod, and will use the ND dimmer lens if necessary
Fast shutter speed: to avoid cloudy or flowing clouds, we need to maintain a fast shutter speed. The higher the wind, the faster the shutter speed will be
It is an easy technique to add cloud to landscape photos, acrylic prints australia which can make landscape photos more distinctive and beautiful.
