Analysis of the importance of picture balance
Analysis of the importance of picture balance
Applying balance in photography is one of the many practical techniques. Balance should have its own rules and skills, not confused with the three-part method. When balance of proportion in the photos application, need to practice how to maximize the use of any venue for the balance of proportion of features, but it looks easier to achieve that goal. Some of the pictures with the subject, the tone and the main body were beautiful, but they destroyed a piece of work because of the uneven picture. Today we bring an article from photographer Roberto Valenzuela to see what he has done in balancing the elements of the picture.
In the filming location, the photographer faces hundreds and thousands of subjects, all shapes, sizes and colors. Just thinking about how to balance that balance will be daunting. So we're going to break it down into three main areas for analysis.
First, use the balance of the character
Take a closer look at the image below, although at first glance it looks good, but the symmetry of the picture is not good. The right-hand side of the photo is too big, and the left side is clearly inadequate.
Now looking at the image below, I moved a few steps to the left, which improved the allocation of characters in the composition. By slightly adjusting the shooting Angle that between me and the bride, you can arrange all the maid of honor to the left side of the picture composition, and the bride and groom are placed on the right side of the picture, can with the bridesmaid balance each other. So you get a more symmetrical picture of the composition.
Two, use object balance to match
There is a lot of fun to use to achieve balance, but it can also be confusing. The trickiest issue is deciding which object to use. Sometimes this is not a problem because there is only one object in the photo. Slopes have a lonely tree; for example, as you've done before, put the tree in the side of the screen, and your subject on the other side.
But how do you choose when faced with dozens of objects of different colors, sizes and shapes? How do you balance the picture now? If the object that is used to achieve a balance is not yet determined, you can ask yourself the following 5 questions.
(1) Which object is the largest or most prominent?
(2) Which object is the brightest?
(3) Which object has the most prominent vertical line?
(4) Which objects can be patterned?
(5) Which object has the strongest contrast?
Third, use the space balance to balance
Space balance of proportion of pictures taken using characters or objects in balance is a skill that can be divided into two steps: the first step is to balance the photos, the second step is to pay attention to the composition of a picture around the edge of the space and the person or object is used to balance.
For example, let's say that there are two people in the picture left and right, and the person on the left is 5 centimeters from the left edge of the picture. The person on the right should also be closer to the right edge of the frame by 5 cm. It doesn't have to be exactly the same, but it should be the same. Why does this distance matter? The answer lies in the fact that the camera's viewfinder edge serves as a reference point. Our brain can easily detect any deviation from these points of reference and adjust and maintain a balance with this sense of space, so it will be very precise. Before pressing the shutter, you need to pay special attention to the spatial division of composition.
