4 tips to improve your travel photography

I like to look at travel photos, canvas prints but sometimes they look a bit dull -- a cabin in the foreground, a few rocks, a meadow or beach, a lake or sea in the middle, mountains or a sunset in the distance, preferably in a slightly overcast day. I take pictures like this all the time. But this is problematic. Sometimes we need to break out of the existing program and break out of our idea that a photo should look like this. We need to open up our minds and try to do something different.

1. Forget about gallery photos and focus on everyday life

When we go to a new place, the first thing that comes to mind is the beautiful buildings, prints on canvas tourist attractions and other things that prove we were there. We've seen so many of these photos in countless guidebooks and online. We want to be able to take these pictures ourselves (and we should). But these pictures do not reflect the inner spirit and soul of a place. Stop and feel how you feel.

Combine the old with the new

We all want to be able to photograph another time and space. I would give anything to photograph Venice and Florence 100 years ago. But if we are on the road looking only for things that happened 50 or 100 years ago, print panoramic photos australia we are missing out on the same fascinating modern moment. Try to combine the old with the modern, like the one above. On the ancient wooden door of Florence, there is a modern pizza menu -- a typical scene of the city.

Don't just see the sunset

Sunsets are great, but they fall into a rut. If you're like me, you probably have hundreds of sunset photos on your hard drive -- and they're all pretty much the same. Now, take your camera away from the sun and focus on the unique color effect that the setting sun brings to the local architecture or landscape. You can do more. For a while before and after sunset, the color of the light changes very quickly, from orange to purple to blue. Set up a tripod, grab a good book, and take a series of the same photos in different colors and hang them on the wall in sequence.

4. Photograph the locals

Local people are the best reflection of local people, so go and film them. Spend an hour or two in a busy neighborhood, watching people. Record the daily life of the local people. Put these photos together with photos of local buildings, daily life, tourist attractions and your personal story, and you have a complete record of your trip.

The point of this article isn't to say you shouldn't take regular travel photos. You should just force yourself to explore and experiment more than that. Try to make something unique and different.
